The alienating language of health care

This Editorial was published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine in October 2006. It challenges the way health professionals use derogatory language about patients, particularly older people. The article it seems had little effect; more than ten years on many of the terms I objected to then and object to now are still in common use.
